Dear Parents:
“Sniffles’N Such” is the mildly ill child care program
offered at the Clarian Downtown day care center located at 2140
Boulevard Place (21st Street and Boulevard Ave).
The program has been offered since the
opening of the center in September 2003. We have conducted many
advertising campaigns over the years that included articles in the
Indianapolis Women’s magazine, Clarian newsletter, notices on the Pulse
Page, displays in the hospital cafeterias, and booths during the
benefits fair. However utilization of the mildly ill child clinic has
been very low since the day care center opened. We have concluded,
after examining the volume, of children receiving care at the clinic
over the past three years that usage is not sufficient to warrant
continuing this seldom used clinic. The last day the clinic will
operate will be May 1, 2009. We care deeply about our staff and
their children and that is why this is a difficult business decision.
This decision will allow us to focus our resources and better serve the
overall Clarian mission. During these difficult financial times we must
be strong stewards of the financial resources we are charged to manage.
Please be aware that Day Nursery will continue to
manage the Clarian Child Care Center and the operations will not
change. The staff, hours, and services remain the same. They will
continue to provide excellent early care and education for our
employee’s young children. The day care center has proven to be a
popular service for our employees such that there is a waiting list for
infants, toddlers, and other age groups.
Letters will be sent to all previous users of the
clinic as we try to inform them of the closure. We also wish to take
this time to thank everyone who has used the clinic. We hope you will
continue to use the Clarian Downtown child care center to meet your
family’s needs.
